Sheree offers powerful insights from her own personal experiences. Of Sri Lankan heritage, she was adopted at three weeks old by a working class Roman Catholic couple in Northern Ireland. She experienced bullying and racism growing up, and after studying computer science at university, went on to work in the overtly white male tech environment. She lives and breathes the issues she writes about.

“Sheree Atcheson offers a bracing guide to dealing with privilege, intersectionality, unconscious bias, allyship, colourist, and the language and, more importantly, the practice of diversity, equity and inclusion. Her prescription, true to her title, is a demanding one...continually rework what you do “even if that means rolling back things you thought would be successful”.”

Key focuses

Start from the beginning

In Demanding More, we start from the start, clearly explaining what diversity and inclusion are, why they cannot exist without one another and what we can all do to make the world a fairer, more equitable place.

Inclusion that scales

Singular actions do not create systemic change. In Demanding More, you’ll be taken through diversity, equity and inclusion best practices, why these are tried-and-tested methods and how you can put them into practice as you scale.

Being data-driven

Without data, DE&I work is assumption-based, and assumptions are riddled with bias. In Demanding More, you’ll find out what they key data points are, how to capture them with global and regional nuance, helping you to turn this data into insight.

Hear from influential leaders

Each chapter is paired with a senior-leader interview, sharing how they’ve embedded inclusion in their businesses, whilst prioritising diversity.
